Transoxiana Outfitters was started in 2021 by two American friends and aid workers living in Badakshan, Tajikistan. Throughout the duration of their work in infrastructure development, they were met with a glaring problem in the villages they labored in, namely, a lack of economic opportunity. Many local friends were leaving home and family behind to seek economic opportunity outside of their homeland.

Given their limited resources and expertise, Grayson and Tim asked the question, “How can we help?”.  Over many dinner table conversations these two friends concurred that the best way they could assist in developing economic opportunity was through small business initiatives. Being themselves, avid alpine and wildlife enthusiasts, the idea for Transoxiana Outfitters was born.

By equipping local guides to lead superior expeditions, Transoxiana Outfitters aims to make wild Tajikistan internationally accessible.
